Being a part of The Harmonium Institute has been an amazing and highly educational experience. Kedar Uncle is not only an inspiring and knowledgeable teacher, but also a mentor in all aspects of life. Some of my favorite memories are attending classical concerts with him, and expanding my musical knowledge by listening to other artists. The organization provides a platform for students of all ages to learn and share their music, and I look forward to continuing my musical journey through it.

I am based out of Dallas-TX and I am learning the basics of playing harmonium from The Harmonium Institute for 2+ years. The harmonium institute has a self-paced and easy to follow curriculum for aspirants to play harmonium. Kedar Sir has given a purpose and extended a unique perspective to understand Music . As a true “Guru”, he exactly understands my impediments and despite being virtual, his to-the-point feedback on practice lessons and regular guidance has immensely helped me to stay motivated, disciplined and continue my musical journey !!

I am very grateful for The Harmonium Institute and Kedarji’s instruction. It has allowed me (a busy working mom, with no prior knowledge of Indian classical music!) to pursue a passion for music and learn not only harmonium, but also about the structure, tradition and complexity of Hindustani Classical music. The self-directed study combined with the guru-shishya tradition that Kedarji has diligently cultivated is special and has provided a lot of cumulative benefit around learning the harmonium and developing my ability as a musician. Kedarji is not only an accomplished musician who is mesmerizing to watch play harmonium, but is a patient teacher, who has inspired many accomplished artists and novice ones like me!

I started my musical journey learning Samvadini (Harmonium) at “The Harmonium Institute” in the year 2020 and it has been an amazing experience. I am very grateful to Kedar sir for agreeing to teach me remotely. He has always been quick and sincere in giving me his useful feedback. His continuous support and direction have helped me improve a lot and has motivated me all along.

It's very important to find a teacher who can set-up a structured path and motivate students. I am very fortunate to have met Kedar ji from The Harmonium Institute, who systematically guides a student through the foundational technique and then introduces various aspects of Raagas and Thaats on harmonium.

He is comprehensive in his focus on other important aspects like various Taals, other genres like bhajan, introduction to accompaniment techniques, building listening skills which improves the overall depth and music appreciation qualities of a student. His carefully planned workshops provide a great opportunity to uplift the music skills in the old Gurukul style of learning.

He encourages students at all levels to perform in front of a live audience by creating opportunities at The Harmonium Institute Gurukul. Thanks to Kedar ji, I am able to better enjoy this treasure of Hindustani Classical music.

Through The Harmonium Institute, Kedar ji is taking the art of harmonium playing to the next generation. We get to witness great NextGen Harmonium talent during many programs at The Harmonium Institute Gurukul. My best wishes to him in this noble endeavor of spreading Indian classical music in the US..
